Prem believes that the interconnectedness of all things is a guiding principle for life. A lifelong student of the natural world, he has traveled widely and found his way into building through international disaster recovery and rebuilding projects. 

Prem is passionate about teaching and has spent years helping others develop not only building skills, but a deeper connection to themselves. He spent five years with YouthBuild, where he taught youth job skills, construction and helped them achieve their GED. Also, he designed and taught the Construction 101 course. Later, Prem served as a Therapeutic Program Director using farming, woodworking, sugaring, gardening, and cooking as tools for healing.

Since the 2023 Vermont floods, Prem has helped homeowners rebuild through nonprofit work and his own business, Hanuman Consulting LLC. He is also the board chair of RAFT (Recovery After Floods Team), a nonprofit he founded to support flood recovery.

Outside of work, Prem is a sugarmaker and spends as much time as possible outdoors—running, skiing, biking, swimming, hiking, and foraging.
