Sustainable Treehouse Design and Construction
Learn to site and construct forest-friendly treehouse platforms
Building a sustainable tree house is both an exhilarating challenge and a symbol of thoughtful, site-sensitive design. In this one-week course, students will explore how to build in nature without harming it—an essential question in sustainable architecture. Studio sessions cover tree physiology, site selection, structural systems, and design aesthetics. In the field, students gain hands-on experience constructing a real tree house platform, learning safe building practices, material selection, and key detailing techniques. By the end, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to design and build your own tree house.
