In this course we’ll explore the entire project life cycle, from waterproofing, drainage, and structural considerations, to site-specific plant selection and irrigation design, to product sourcing and installation logistics. Through a mix of presentations and hands-on design sessions we’ll look at the wide range of green roof assemblies available today, including extensive, intensive, blue-green, bio-solar, and rooftop farms. By the conclusion of the class, students will have developed a complete design package for their selected project, featuring layout and loading plans, buildup details, planting plans, and installation and maintenance schedules.
