A month-long exploration of carpentry, design, and building systems

Yestermorrow’s Certificate in Residential Design & Construction is perfect for those pursuing a career in design or building trades, or those looking to create their own dream home, combining key elements of the school’s design/build curriculum into one comprehensive program.

In the design studio, you’ll learn critical design skills and apply them to your own residential project. On the jobsite, the class will work together to complete a small-scale carpentry project, such as a shed or a cabin. The course will also cover fundamental principles of electrical and plumbing to better inform your design and give you confidence to engage with subcontractors.

This course lays the groundwork for your design/build journey—equipping you with essential skills, creative ideas, and the momentum to keep building.

Reviews

  • For me, the strongest part of the course was having the time, space, and company to work on my own design project while having access to experts to help me think through problems. I feel like I have much more readiness to tackle the things I want to do after this course.

  • I very much enjoyed my time at CRDC and found the enthusiasm by instructors and students to be amazing. It very much ignited an interest and excitement of my own to move forward learning more and hopefully finding an avenue to a new career. The solid feedback during the course, ability to participate, and being in a diverse group of others doing the same was appreciated. I will definitely come back to learn more and hope to find the correct path into design and build projects for myself.
