Laura has worked in the electrical trades since 2009, when an opportunity to apprentice to Master Electrician Jan Ruta became the perfect antidote to burnout in the private sector software industry. As an independent electrician, she has focused primarily on residential work but has also enjoyed wiring commercial greenhouses, farm buildings, and other projects. She grew up in the Champlain Valley and has made her home in Central Vermont for the last 26 years, where she loves to hike, kayak, cook, and take off for hours on her motorcycle when she’s not working too much.
