Seeking a designer to start immediately on a two-level timber-frame treehouse dwelling on a wooded site in Jericho, VT. The design brief and parameters are well developed, so work can begin right away.

The project: A 20 x 24 ft platform on steel I-beams anchored to trees (already built). A timber frame post grid with a SIPs envelope. A heated middle chamber with a Japanese-style genkan entry. An open observation deck under a low-pitch truncated hip roof. The aesthetic draws on Nordic, Japanese, mid-century modern, and Vermont trail-shelter and cabin design. Not interested in ornate country style.

Phase 1: Firm up the basic exterior look and feel in pen or pencil sketches.
Phase 2 (priority): A timber framing model in SketchUp or similar, needed within weeks so framing can begin this fall.
Phase 3: Enclosure design and drawings over the winter, for completion of the enclosure in spring 2027.

Required experience:

• Timber frame design (joinery, post-and-beam layout, member sizing)
• CAD construction drawings that builders have built from
• Insulation and envelope design, including natural materials
• A portfolio of structures designed and built
