Carpenters (All Levels – Entry to Lead)

Bluedove Builders is seeking employee carpenters at all stages of experience to join our growing company based in Woodstock, Vermont, with projects throughout the Upper Valley. Our work consists primarily of new construction, additions, residential remodels, and renovations. Carpenters at Bluedove are involved in the full scope of work – from demolition and framing through finish carpentry. We’re focused on the smooth execution of every project we take on, working from well-thought-out plans, timelines, and budgets.
Carpenter Levels & Pay Bands
- Laborer Carpenter – $25-$30/hr
- Early-career role focused on site support, material handling, demolition, and basic carpentry tasks.
- Apprentice Carpenter – $35-$40/hr
- Developing carpenters with a solid foundation who are building technical skill, confidence, and independence
- Lead / Senior Carpenter – $45-$50/hr
- Lead carpenters manage work on site, including sequencing, quality control, and mentoring others.
A Clear Leadership Pathway
Bluedove Builders offers a clear growth and leadership pathway for carpenters who want to build a long-term career:
Laborer → Apprentice → Lead Carpenter → Leadership / Management (including Site-PM, Senior PM, etc.)
As Bluedove Builders grows, leadership opportunities may develop in areas such as project management, design, operations, and shop leadership. Advancement is based on demonstrated skill, reliability, communication, and leadership – not tenure alone.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-time position
- Two weeks of paid time off (available after a 3-month vesting period; must be used annually)
- 3% company contribution to an IRA retirement plan
- Monthly health insurance stipend (QSEHRA contribution, approximately $520)
- Discretionary bonuses based on performance, project success, and company financial health
- Major holidays off
Our company would also consider subcontracting carpenters to work on upcoming projects on a 1099 basis.
