Gunnar is a climate-forward catalyst, change agent, and leader in Sustainability and ClimateTech, within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) community. A recognized global leader in green building, developing and implementing climate-focused strategies. Specializes in creating high-performance, low-carbon, healthy buildings and collaborating with clients and team members on projects of all scales worldwide. Contributed to and led teams on 500 LEED, Passive House, WELL, and Living Building Challenge Certifications. Advances climate action initiatives through customized consulting services to owners, design teams, institutions, and companies. An innovative and creative teacher/facilitator who develops content and instructs across diverse audiences on climate solutions for the AEC Industry. In 2015, he was accepted as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and in 2012 he became a LEED Fellow. His past experience includes working at Rocky Mountain Institute as a research scholar in Green Development Services, and was the Executive Director of the Yestermorrow Design Build School from 1993-1996. He has a Masters of Architecture from the University of Oregon, and B.S. from the University of Vermont.
