This small but mighty 180 square foot building is the ultimate blank canvas for your backyard studio, home office, or accessory dwelling unit (ADU). Designed with a large accent window and a 6-lite front door, the space maximizes natural light. The layout comfortably accommodates a full-size bed, a small sitting area, and a compact kitchenette.

Premium Shell Specifications

• Foundation System: 2x6 floor joists paired with heavy-duty 2x8 pressure-treated skids.
• Insulation: Floor joists are pre-insulated with Rockwool (R-23) for year-round climate control.
• Framing:  2x4 wall framing and 2x6 roof framing.
• Exterior Finish: Locally sourced horizontal pine shiplap siding.
• Windows & Doors: Features one large, upcycled double-pane window at the front for added character, alongside a brand-new front door.

Pricing & Customization

Base Shell Price: $18,000 Includes a fully weather-tight shell with siding, roofing, windows, and doors—completely ready for you to step in and finish the interior.

• Design Modifications: Any modifications to this base design are billable at $75/hour.
• Fully Custom Cabins: We can bring your unique vision to life from scratch. Custom builds are priced at the cost of materials plus a design fee billed at $75/hour.

Logistics & Planning

Site Preparation

Our cabins are built on pressure-treated skids designed to withstand years of direct ground contact. However, to extend the life of your structure and facilitate proper drainage, we strongly recommend placing the cabin on a level 4–6″ gravel base or a dedicated foundation. Preliminary site work must be completed by the client prior to delivery.

Delivery & Transport

All construction is completed on the Yestermorrow campus. The client is responsible for coordinating and covering the cost of transport to their site. For an additional fee, Yestermorrow staff is available to help coordinate shipping logistics.

Permits & Zoning

The client is responsible for obtaining all local zoning or building permits required by their municipality. If you are unsure of your town’s building code requirements for a structure of this size, please contact your local Planning and Zoning Administrator.
