she/her

Penny was born and raised in Northern Virginia. Her building journey began with designing and building livable campervans, first her own, then at a small company in Colorado. Penny came to Yestermorrow in 2022 to work as a Shipping Container Teaching Assistant and a Semester Design/Build Teaching Assistant. She has gone on to take numerous Yestermorrow classes and plans to teach in the future. Penny believes in the power of coming together through hands-on learning and tangible skill-building. She has lived in group houses, in her tiny camper van, and currently resides in a tiny house cabin. Her various living experiences have opened her eyes to the need for affordable housing for all.

Penny holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Conservation from Virginia Tech, with minors in Forestry and Leadership and Social Change (2020). She currently works with a team of lively and kindhearted people at Flywheel Industrial Arts in Montpelier, VT doing metal work and 3D modeling.
