Intro to Revit Architecture

Designed to integrate 3D visualization with technical drawing, Revit Architecture is a powerful computer software package used to develop design ideas from a napkin sketch through construction drawings. Students will learn the fundamental concepts of the program from an instructor who uses the program every day. The group will start by learning basic operations of creating walls, windows, floors and laying out their work on sheets. The instructor will discuss the practical advantages of implementing the software in a work environment and how it can streamline collaboration with other disciplines. Instructors will answer questions from the previous sessions and progress into new topics such as rendering, shadows, dimensioning, and project rigor.

Please note that Revit is a PC-based program so if you'd like to work on a Mac you'll need to set up Parallels. If you're not familiar with how to do this please do some research to determine whether it's the right fit for you or whether you'd be better off selecting another modeling platform such as SketchUp.

The online course will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-8pm ET for a total of four (4) 4-hour sessions.
