SketchUp for Home Design (Online)

SketchUp is a free, intuitive, and powerful 3D drawing program that, with an efficient capacity for drawing massing models, framing plans, sheathing plans, and design details, is well suited for designing homes. We’ll start with an intro to SketchUp and move quickly into drawing massing models. After you’ve mastered the basics, we’ll move into making framing and sheathing plans and producing shop drawings. A laptop computer with SketchUp already installed is required along with a wheel mouse. Students already familiar with SketchUp are encouraged to bring their own house design ideas and draw them in SketchUp during the course.

The November 2022 online course will run on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM Eastern Time from November 1 to November 22, 2022 for a total of four (4) 2-hour sessions.

Students must have already completed an Intro to SketchUp course or the equivalent. This is an intermediate course. Students will be given a letter certifying their enrollment that allows them to purchase SketchUp at a deeply discounted rate.
