Fusion 360 for Woodworking (Online)

Fusion 360 is a free, cloud-based 3D modeling platform that includes design, drawings, renderings and even manufacturing. It’s not the easiest 3D program to learn, but it includes a stunning array of features and it's very well suited for woodworking projects.

For experienced and aspiring woodworkers, who are computer literate and want to design projects without any limitations – Fusion 360 is a great choice. We will start by learning the basics – the Fusion workspaces and solid modeling features – while designing a coffee table from a set of plans. Once the table is modeled, you will learn how to generate a measured set of drawings, render images and share your designs with others. Time permitting, students will also work on their own woodworking designs in Fusion 360.

This online course will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM Eastern Time - from January 4 to January 20, 2022 - for a total of six (6) 2-hour sessions.

Please have Fusion 360 installed and running on your computer before this class starts. You can download a free 30-day trial (autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview) and convert this to a free educational license when your trial expires (Yestermorrow will provide further details to registered students before class starts). All classes will meet on Zoom, therefore a reliable internet connection, camera and microphone is also required. A three-button mouse (mouse with a scroll wheel) is strongly recommended.
