Fine Woodworking: Build a Maple Table

Students will delve deeply into the how's and why's of woodworking, the use of machinery and hand tools, and the concepts of joinery. Demonstrations and discussions will supplement hands-on learning as students each build a table of their own. Learn to edge, join, and glue boards; layout joints; cut tapered legs; and join rails to legs with mortise and tenon joinery.

Students will be able to choose to build either a coffee table, console table or a dining table.

This course teaches many of the same fundamentals skills as our Beginning Furniture Making course. However in this session, we will focus on creating a large table top instead of a drawer. Students who have taken our Beginning Furniture Making course will have the opportunity to reiterate fundamental skills while expanding their skills to larger scale furniture.  This course is also appropriate for those who have no prior woodworking experience.
