Build a Masonry Oven

This 2 day masonry oven program will address basic questions about construction techniques as well as compare between earthen ovens and masonry ovens. We will be building an oven on a platform created by the Art of Stone class. A basic and simple review of platform requirements will be discussed and we will work immediately on constructing the oven.

A masonry oven is made of high temperature fire bricks and fire clay, made in a half dome on a surface of either brick or soapstone. This is then covered in layers of fireclay and typical mortar. This is an accelerated 2 day class so come ready to really work hard and laugh all day.
