General Contracting Your Home

General Contracting your own building project is a great way to be involved, maintain creative control, and save money.  We will speak in terms and discuss for projects of any size: from decks and sheds, renovations and remodels, or full residential construction. This workshop will give a more complete understanding of the role of the general contractor in construction projects. This course will instill the confidence and knowledge to coordinate tasks yourself and with subcontractors.

Participants will learn about scheduling, permits, estimating, design plans, and loan structure; as well as contracting with major and minor trades and how to effectively schedule and work with subcontractors. The goal of General Contracting Your Home is for participants to feel empowered and confident during all stages of their project, from pre-design to final walk-through and documentation.

Online classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 PM, for a total of 4 sessions.
