Residential Construction Estimating

The two primary tools for a general contractor are a schedule and a budget. Whether you are a homeowner who intends to general contract your own home or a general contractor interested in honing your estimating skills, the Residential Construction Estimating (RCE) course will familiarize you with the considerations and costs associated with various phases of the design-build process for a home. This is an introductory level estimating course which empowers you to develop a reasonable total project cost. The sessions include guidance on the following topics:

  • reading construction documents (blueprints)
  • quantity takeoffs
  • requesting and reviewing quotes
  • equipment and material costingĀ 
  • subcontractor costing
