Fall 2024 Speaker Series: Connected Communities
VT-100 Active Transportation Corridor with Misha Golfman
The exciting Alternative Transportation Corridor from Warren to Moretown is being planned for the Valley. It is time to re-think our roads to include all users: bicyclists, pedestrians, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. In his presentation, Misha Golfman, the Executive Director of Mad River Path will talk about how reimagining the roadways contributes to social transformation, builds community, and improves well-being. Misha will share the details of the VT-100 corridor study, now in the works, and draw on examples of other successful corridors from the Burlington Bike Path to the Copenhagen bike trail system..

Misha Golfman
Executive Director, Mad River Path Association
Prior to joining MRPA in April 2023, Misha served as co-founder and executive director of Kroka Expeditions for 28 years. Together, with his partner Lynne, he has raised four children on a nature-connected homestead and guided over one hundred wilderness expeditions in remote areas of the world. For many years, Misha led Vermont Semester students the length of the state on skis following the Catamount Trail, passing through, and falling in love with, the Mad River Valley. He believes that a footpath connecting communities and designed in harmony with nature serves as a powerful tool for social transformation and is excited to contribute his skills and experience to the expansion and completion of the Mad River Path.
