Eli Barlow is a chair maker and artist with experience in green woodworking. He builds Windsor chairs at Sawyer Made in Woodbury, learning construction and design from George Sawyer. He is learning to teach by assisting with Sawyer Made classes, as well as teaching a ladderback chair class at Yestermorrow. Making and modifying the tools used in the shop is one of Eli’s favorite parts about building chairs, and he admires the folks working to improve the craft community. Jewelry making has been his most recent form of material and artistic exploration, with a focus on finding cool rocks.
