Bio

Alex Stoicheff is a designer, builder and technical director currently based in Montreal. He works with international artists for the fabrication, coordination, and installation of interactive artworks in public space. Drawing on his overlapping years in the trades and architecture studios, Alex is passionate about the design process—from ideas to built-forms.

He first became inspired by project-based and hands-on learning as a student at Bennington College, developing designs through scale drawings, models and prototypes.  In the fall of 2019, he was assistant instructor for the Woodworking Certificate at Yestermorrow continuing into 2020 as artist-in-residence and taking a leading role in the completion of the student dormitory.  He is driven by the relationship between designed objects, space and the human experience.
