A Message to Yestermorrow’s Home Design/Build Alumni
Recently, Yestermorrow Founder John Connell and long-time instructor John Ringel were on campus for our 2016 Home Design/Build course. They recorded this special video message to all Home Design/Build alumni. The video tells the story of Home Design/Build and appeals to alumni to become supporters of the school. In 1980, John Connell had a simple idea: teach homeowners the skills to design and build their own homes. So, he took out a small ad in Fine Home Building, and launched the Yestermorrow Design/Build School with its first, and longest running course: Home Design/Build. Many Home Design/Build alumni have told us that while they come to Yestermorrow to learn practical drafting and building skills, they experience much more. For 36 years, the Home Design/Build course has invited students to turn their core values into a lifestyle – whether it’s living on the land, using renewable resources, or simply creating a restorative home environment. Yestermorrow can’t exist without the support of our alumni. We hope that Yestermorrow alumni pay it forward and open the Home Design/Build experience to others.
