Traditional Log home building

Looking for skilled carpenter for unique job. The job is to help build two traditional log buildings for a history museum. Hand tools skills are required, comfort with chainsaws is good, and experience with skid loaders/tractors is a plus. Work will consist mostly of hand hewing logs with a broad ax and using a draw knife to peal small amount of bark off. There will be opportunities to cut dovetail and v-notchs on sawn live edge logs with chainsaws, hand planes, and slicks. There is also a smaller amount timber framing porches and roof rafters, and finally standing the building up on site. 

Some tools can be provided, but owning certain tools will be necessary for certain work.

Pay for hewing will be $3 per square foot, for context I can comfortably hew 100 sqft in a day, and more if I am eager. Other work will be paid by the hour, $20-$33, depending experience.

The duration of the job will be 3-4 months.

Most of the work will be done in Oley PA. Options for living arrangements can be found for flexible person. 

Job site is in Texas, travel will be paid for.
