Join us in learning the traditional methods of creating heirloom gardening tools. These tools will be made out of riven green wood that will be harvested sustainably here in the Yestermorrow woods with the help of the class. The instructor will guide students through a synergetic mixture of old techniques paired with efficient use of modern shop equipment/machines. Each student will pick a tool to make based on a pre-designed plan(s) such as: rakes, shovels, pitch fork, apple picker, and many more. Students should be able to lift over 20 lbs, feel comfortable in learning the use of sharp hand tools, and be interested in learning how to safely use woodshop machinery.
