Sustainable Design-Build at Home

Sustainable Design-Build at Home facilitates students designing and building in their own personal space using materials that are available to them - especially materials that are budget friendly. Students will go through the sustainable design building process, techniques, and practices using different media including wood and textiles. Utilizing the principles of upcycling, students will be able to design and build sustainably and economically. It is important that during global changes - whether environmental, social, or economic - individuals are able to adapt and live resiliently and this course will guide them to achieve this. Essentially, the course will enable students to think outside the box or conventional methods and train their mind into adaptive and resilient thinking while engaging and immersing in a creative space to be able to implement projects themselves. This course is great for any age group or individual seeking to work with their hands and delve into the world of creativity, design, and crafting.

This online course will meet twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for 2 hour sessions, from 6-8pm (EST) from May 18-27, 2021.
