Spoon and Bowl Carving

This course is an introduction to basic carving methodologies via hand tools only. Beginning with green wood from the Yestermorrow forest, students will learn how to properly harvest material and whittle it down to a functional object that is useful within their daily lives. Students should feel comfortable in learning how to safely use sharp tools such as an: axe, adze, gouges, chisels, drawknives, and froes. This class will require students to be able to lift at least 20lbs.
