Historic Masonry and Plaster Repairs

In this workshop, we will start Day 1 on the road with site visits to a few historic masonry buildings and discuss restoration strategies and practices. On Day 2, through lecture and hands-on demonstrations, we will learn about appropriate traditional masonry repairs including: identifying and documenting existing conditions; sourcing replacement materials, formulating appropriate mortars and plasters and decorative treatments for finishing historic brick, stone and plaster assemblies
