Woodworking Shop Assistant

Kole Made Design/Build seeks a full-time skilled shop assistant in our woodworking shop who is passionate to learn, thrives in creative, collaborative settings, can work clean but is not afraid of getting their hands dirty, and enjoys finding innovative building solutions. The ideal candidate will be good at working with their hands and willing to learn Kole’s particular methods while being able to handle physically-demanding work. This is a great opportunity to learn about woodworking, cabinet and furniture making, and renovation projects.

Essential qualities & skills:
Strong ability to work with your hands
Comfortable working in a shop environment
Ability to take direction and follow instructions
Ability to read detailed shop drawings & measurements
Ability to learn quickly
Willingness to learn Kole’s particular shop practices
Responsibility: the ideal candidate must show up every day on time ready to work
Safe working habits: personal and team safety is out top priority
Ability to work collaboratively in a team or be self-directed when the management is occupied
Ability to take direction and constructive feedback
Ability to lift 50 Lbs solo
Some experience w/ the safe operation of various power tools

Responsibilities:
Assist with the fabrication of Kole’s various projects
Handle much of the sanding, finishing, and assembly
Assist on job-site installations
Help maintain a clean, safe, organized shop environment
