Field Carpenter Assistant

Bensonwood, a design-build company, located in Walpole, NH, seeks an energetic full-time associate to join the Project Resources Team.

Position Summary
The Field Carpenter Assistant will be the on-site project representative working towards the goal of timely project completion. The Field Carpenter Assistant will work under the guidance and supervision of an experienced Field Carpenter and the Project Resources Team Leader. This is a field based role that requires daily travel to job sites and requires the ability to support on-site raisings as needed which may include overnight stays. Work hours vary but typically are 40-45 hours per week though there will be times when longer hours are required.

Primary Responsibilities
•Carries out carpentry scopes including but not limited to: rough framing, trim work, drywall repairs, exterior siding and trim repairs, door and window installations
•Works with General Contracting (GC) team to close out projects
•Carries out warranty related carpentry tasks
•Purchases incidental materials required to keep the project moving efficiently
•Ensures the safety and cleanliness of job sites
•Communicates effectively, professionally, and respectfully with all stakeholders

Experience and Skills - we will train the right person
•General carpentry skills and hands-on experience with other trades a plus
•Experience with residential construction materials, methods and processes
•Ability to understand project specifications, construction drawings, and construction details
•Enthusiasm for construction with a desire to learn
•Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot
