Semester in Sustainable Design/Build "Chateau"

Five of the seven Yestermester students live off campus. Our beloved “chateau” is located 8 minutes up route 100 and up a steep dirt road that’s kept all of us from biking anywhere.

The chateau is a circa 1974 ski house. From the outside, it’s a cookie-cutter swiss chalet. On the inside, it’s something between a vintage ski museum and a Hugh Hefner loft. I’ll explain:

Walk in the front door, here’s the carpets you’ll see. The Persian rug was added by Yestermorrow students. You can tell we’re designers.

Leopard print covered bed. Or is it a couch?

Why is this?

Nothing like craning your neck on the edge of a leopard print bed (couch) to watch The Bachelor

Tooo red.

Craftsmanship

The washing machine door does not stay open. Shucks.

I think this bathroom is missing something…

..oh, this. Turns out there’s one in every bedroom. Just not the bathroom.

Don’t think about the doorknob.

Yes, you.

Well, This is our home. And I can say without sarcasm that we really do like it here - not in spite of its weirdness, but because of it. Everyday brings a new discovery about the place. Great memories have been made on the Zebra print carpet, and we look forward to many more.
