Nancy has been timberframing with Amstutz Woodworking since 1996, cutting over 100 timberframes as well as producing timberframe shop drawings for many of them. She has been involved in the Timberframers Guild, including as project leader during the building of a replica of the Robinson post windmill.
Early construction experience includes working with wooden sailing ships, both in renovation as well as on the construction of schooner Pride of Baltimore II, and mill restoration. She built her off-grid solar powered home in 1994. More recently she lived and worked in rural Nicaragua promoting natural building and renewable energy. In 2012, Nancy co-taught a course in Natural Building with fellow Yestermorrow instructor Liz Johndrow.
