Karen first became interested in marquetry as a child at her grandfather’s knee. After his passing she took a weekend marquetry course through WANA, set up a small basement woodshop. Then life happened.
She raised a son. Her employer moved to Mexico and she signed up for what became a “Year of Yestermorrow”.
Initially concentrating on sustainable building and design, the tiny house build and timber framing course reignited her passion to work with wood.
After many years at the school of hard knocks, Karen presently builds high-end furniture for a VT based company and looks forward to creating and selling her own marquetry.
Nothing gives Karen more pleasure than working with wood...except chocolate!
