Brian has spent nearly 20 years as an architect, designing hand-in-hand with communities across the United States. He began his career as a builder and a community organizer before spending six years at McCamant & Durrett Architects, the originators of US cohousing. To Brian, design starts with building partnerships and crafting a process which will establish a shared ethos, that is then manifested in the built environment. Brian now lives in Portland, Oregon, where he works at Bora Architects, bringing design for social connectivity to educational environments and affordable housing. His most recent project was a conversion of his garage-turned-woodshop into a kinder pod classroom for four neighborhood kiddos.
