Carpentry for Women

One of our most popular offerings, this course gives women a chance to learn general carpentry terms, tools and techniques in a friendly, nonintimidating environment. Learn how to safely use a wide range of hand and power tools while building a small structure such as a garden shed or playhouse. We'll visit a lumber yard, a mill and a hardware store to see the difference in what they offer. Also by visiting a job site we'll learn the structural anatomy of framing floor, wall and roof systems for a house. This course is practical and fun; don't miss the chance to gain the satisfaction of hands-on carpentry. Beginner.
